Predicting The Future

I’ve actually always been pretty good at predicting the future. Well… except for the stock market, but that’s not the point I am trying to make.

Actually, it might be the point I am trying to make, because my prediction capability is skewed toward future bad events.

One case in point is a news article out today on a cyber attack by North Korea.

I know that one should not laugh or even smile at these things, but the plot of the book I wrote over the span from 1993-2007 (So I’m a slow writer) and which I then published in 2009 called What Time Is It was about a North Korean Cyber attack on the banking system. It appears that the plot in one form has been realized.

After reading the article, my smile soon turned to a frown when I remembered that my second book deals with wiping out all the souls in Israel for eternity, and my third book has a plot for a dirty bomb attack on the US.

I’m definitely going to have to change the plot lines in the two books that I’m now finishing.

Because I sure don’t want those events to happen.

Yes, predicting is one thing, directing is definitely another.

Of course not! So if your predictions don't direct the future, you have nothing to worry about when you make dire predictions or publish stories which have the potential to come true, but you know that.

Very little is allowed to proceed unseen by the legendary celestial dragons throne of China, that does not serve the dragons purpose. The throne may have disappeared from view. the power has not. The shifting tides like the desert sands of history, hide a multitude of unrevealled influences, where the influence is passed on to those who dare to wield it.

There is always the option of creating a betting club for predicting disasters accurately. Might even be profitable if you can get it right:)).

China exerts economic and diplomatic influence over the DPRK, but does not directly control the regime's actions. China strongly opposed nuclear testing and the sinking of a South Korean ship, for example, because their destabilizing potential threatens China's interests in the region. Those interests include the buffer zone function of North Korea keeping the large number of US troops stationed in the South at arm's length; trade with North Korea as DPRK's largest trading partner; and avoiding regime collapse, which could send hundreds of thousands of refugees streaming across the border into China.

One thing I learned during several decades in my working career is that what a country says in public, has, at times, very little to do with what they do in private. I sense without knowledge, that the strings on the puppet are being pulled outside the PRNK

You might be interested in this Council on Foreign Relations report that goes into a lot of detail about the China-North Korea relationship. It notes, for example, that China supported UN resolutions and sanctions against North Korea after the 2006 nuclear test, and that Chinese diplomats have warned North Korea to desist from destabilizing actions.

The written word can be very powerful. I don't know how many times I've written a short story (fiction only) and have it actually happen soon after.

I remember a few years back, there was a show on tv about some guys who were chasing all sort of objects which had bad powers. One of them was a pen, which when used to write a story, everytime it turned into reality. Each time the story had to be about some sort of a horrible crime happening. In the end, the team gets the pen, puts it in a vault and the crimes stop...

Maybe it is your computer that has to be hidden in a vault, I don't suppose you are still using a pen...

Ha, ha, ha, I wonder if all those things are coincidences, or after all our brains talk to each other, and they tap into some that should be left alone...

I certainly hope that the North Koreans did not read your book though...
