A Burst Of Mums

Back in early October 2012, I shared the photo below of our chrysanthemums that were just beginning to flower. And some of you commented that you were anticipating a photo of them fully flowered out.

It looked like they were going to do pretty good this year, the second year after first planting them in late 2011.

And, they did!!

I'm not why there is such a difference in the colors between these pics - maybe it was the lighting.

Mums are one of my mother's favorite flowers, so I was glad they were doing so well in her garden, which I take care of for the vast majority of time. She seems okay with that since she's 85 now and can't get around like she used to although she's still in great shape for being 85. And I'm pleased to do most of the gardening,... because I love it!!

So, sign me eagerly awaiting the spring!

How wonderful Gary! With all the snow and frigid weather we are having here in Pa....it is such a gift and a reminder that in spring colors like your MOM'S MUMS! will be blooming! Glad to see you, you really are eclectic...AND a great son. I miss my parents...so glad you are enjoying your mom.

We have a lot in common. My mother is turning 86 on the 28th. Her husband used to be a farmer so he takes care of the plants. He and I talk gardening, while Mother just likes the results.

Beautiful mums. Sometimes flowers change color a bit after blooming. I think the top and bottom buds in the first shot are close to the color of the flowers.

Yes, I too think its the lighting...They are sooo pretty and I know your mom has to enjoy them. I'm sure she is quite grateful that you can take care of her flowers for her...
